“ Part of the city since 1973 Kam Wah Cafe is heralded as the best Boloyau in Hong Kong, and although the Egg Custard Tarts are frankly average what owners Chan Fong Chik-mui and Chan Tim-wo have managed to achieve with a Sugar-crusted Bun and cold Butter is magnificent. Located fairly far north of the harbor, though easily accessed via MTR to Mong Kok East, those who do not wish to dine in will find a take-away window that is cash-only, less than a minute's wait yielding the warm and sweet Bread sandwiching a slab of contrasting Butter with just a hint of salt. ”
“ Wowwwww our fav fav place haha. I know this may seem like a "tourist trap" but I was trappppeddd hahaha. It was sooooooo good. Fuuuu the pineapple buns were so good I didn't want to leave to Japan the next day lol. Service was sooo nice. All the aunties in there are really cool. The place is super chill, I like all the vintage milk tea cups they use. Best best pineapple buns I've ever had in my life. ”
“ Pretty tasty meal for breakfast. We came on a weekday around 8 AM and there were many locals coming in and out, but we were able to get seated immediately. We ordered the Pineapple buns, Hong Kong milk tea, and egg tarts. The buns were huge and came with butter in them, you can definitely share one with another person if you're not a big eater in the morning. The Hong Kong milk tea is tasty as well, I got the yuenyeung (coffee + milk tea) since I wanted some caffeine. We enjoyed trying the egg tarts as well. Overall, this was a good cha chan tang experience with cheap eats that will fill you up. ”

I thought the butter in the middle was a little extra but it was perfect. Service was standard average what you would expect in HK, no surprises there. ”
